Editorial policy

Our job is to tell readers what happened, why it matters and how we know — clearly and without spin.

Accuracy and verification

We only publish information we can attribute to a credible source: official statements and data, court and regulatory filings, sports governing bodies, wire agencies and established news organisations. Where details are disputed or unconfirmed, we say so plainly.

Sourcing

Every report is confirmed by at least two independent sources before publication — for example an official statement plus a wire agency or an established news outlet. A story is never a rewrite of a single outlet's article. Every report ends with the list of sources it relies on, with links.

We write every story in our own words, add context and explainers, and quote only briefly, with attribution. We do not publish press releases or brand campaigns as news.

Use of AI tools

We use AI-assisted tools to help monitor news sources, summarise documents and draft copy. These tools do not replace verification: claims are checked against the cited sources, and we are accountable for everything we publish.

Independence and fairness

We report on politics and contested issues even-handedly, give the positions of the main sides, and keep news separate from opinion. Advertisers have no influence over our coverage, and sponsored content is always clearly labelled.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and note significant corrections at the end of the story. To report an error, email editor@globehourly.com with the link and the correction.

Sensitive stories

We report on violence, disasters and crime with care for victims and their families. We do not publish graphic images and we follow responsible-reporting guidance on suicide and self-harm.
