Indonesia swings the title

The lead changed hands at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika. Márquez won Saturday's sprint, but in Sunday's main race Marco Bezzecchi led an Aprilia sweep of the top four places, ahead of Raúl Fernández, Martín and Ai Ogura — the first time Aprilia has filled the top four in the premier class. Márquez could only finish sixth, and Martín's third place was enough to take over at the top.

The standings

Rider Points
Jorge Martín 355
Marc Márquez 353
Marco Bezzecchi 309

Aprilia also leads the constructors' championship, 503 points to Ducati's 491.

Next stop: Phillip Island

The Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island runs from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, October 25, with qualifying and the sprint on Saturday. It is also the last time the Victorian circuit will host the race: earlier this year the event was confirmed to be leaving the state after 2026.

With so few points separating the leaders and Aprilia in form, every session in Australia could prove decisive in one of the tightest title fights in years.
