The Milwaukee Brewers crushed the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the 2026 World Series on Monday night, October 26, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, and now lead the best-of-seven series 3-0. An eight-run fifth inning, scored entirely with two outs on seven consecutive hits, and six scoreless innings from starter Robert Gasser left Milwaukee one victory away from the first World Series title in the franchise's 57-year history.
The result came at about 5 am on Tuesday in Pakistan. The Brewers have now won 10 of their 11 games this postseason.
How the game unfolded
The first two innings were scoreless. Milwaukee broke through in the third inning with two runs against Rays starter Freddy Peralta, while Gasser kept the Rays off the bases almost entirely.
The game turned in the fifth. Christian Yelich was first ruled out at second base on a force play, but the Brewers challenged and the call was overturned on replay, loading the bases with two outs. What followed was a hitting streak never seen before in the postseason: seven batters in a row reached on hits.
Brice Turang singled home two runs, Garrett Mitchell added an RBI single, rookie Cooper Pratt hit a two-run double, Sal Frelick doubled in another run, David Hamilton singled home one more and Jackson Chourio capped the inning with an RBI double. Peralta was removed after 4 2/3 innings with the bases loaded, and relievers Cam Booser and Cole Sulser could not stop the run. By the end of the inning it was 10-0.
Tampa Bay's only run came in the bottom of the ninth, when Yandy Díaz doubled against Brandon Woodruff — pitching for the first time since July 4 — to drive in a run.

Gasser near-perfect on the mound
Gasser, the 27-year-old left-hander, was dominant. He threw six innings on just 75 pitches, gave up one hit and faced the minimum 18 batters. According to statistics service Opta, the only other pitcher to face the minimum over six or more innings in a World Series start was Don Larsen, who threw a perfect game for the New York Yankees in 1956.
Antonio Senzatela and Garrett Cleavinger followed with scoreless relief before Woodruff finished the game. Milwaukee's top relievers, including closer Trevor Megill, Aaron Ashby and Abner Uribe, were not needed and will be rested for Game 4.

Background: how the series got here
Milwaukee won Game 1 3-2 at home behind Yelich and rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, then came back from a 4-0 first-inning deficit to win Game 2 5-4. The Brewers reached the World Series for the first time since 1982 by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Tampa Bay beat the Cleveland Guardians to win the American League pennant and is also chasing its first title, after losing the World Series in 2008 and 2020.

Reactions
Major League Baseball's official account highlighted that the Brewers became the first team ever to have seven consecutive batters collect a hit in a postseason game. On the Tampa Bay side the mood was sombre, with the Rays facing elimination at home after being outscored 18-7 across the three games.
Why it matters
Milwaukee is one of the smallest markets in Major League Baseball and has never won a World Series, having lost its only previous appearance in 1982 to the St. Louis Cardinals. A title would cap a postseason in which the Brewers have lost just once. For Tampa Bay, another small-budget club, the series is turning into a third World Series defeat in 18 years unless it can produce a comeback no team has ever managed.
What happens next
Game 4 is on Tuesday, October 27, at 8 pm Eastern time at Tropicana Field — 5 am on Wednesday, October 28, in Pakistan and 5:30 am in India. A Milwaukee win would complete a sweep and crown the Brewers champions. If the Rays win, Game 5 follows on Wednesday night in St. Petersburg before the series returns to Milwaukee for Games 6 and 7 if needed.
How to watch
In the United States the World Series is shown on FOX. Viewers in other countries can follow it through MLB.tv, the official MLB app and local broadcast partners.
