At a glance

  • Japan's Yuri Yoshida, 26, shot a final-round 68 to win the BMW Ladies Championship at 17 under par, one shot ahead of Haeran Ryu and Hye-Jin Choi, for her first LPGA title.
  • Yoshida is the fourth Japanese winner on the LPGA Tour this season and earned $352,500 from a $2.35 million purse.
  • Yuto Katsuragawa won the Genesis Championship in Cheonan by two shots at 13 under, his second DP World Tour title, jumping from 106th to 28th in the Race to Dubai.
  • The PGA Tour's Butterfield Bermuda Championship was cut to 54 holes by wind; Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power meet in a playoff on Monday.

Japanese golfers won both big tournaments in South Korea on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Yuri Yoshida came from four shots behind to win the LPGA Tour's BMW Ladies Championship by one stroke for her first LPGA title, and Yuto Katsuragawa won the DP World Tour's Genesis Championship by two shots. In the United States, strong winds wiped out the final round of the PGA Tour's Bermuda Championship, setting up a Monday playoff.

BMW Ladies Championship: Yoshida's breakthrough

Yoshida, 26, started the final round at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam four shots behind overnight leader Haeran Ryu. She made an eagle at the par-5 second hole and then three birdies in a row from the fifth to the seventh to reach the turn in 31. A three-putt bogey on the 18th gave the two South Koreans one last chance, but neither could catch her.

Pos Player Country Rounds Total
1 Yuri Yoshida Japan 66-69-68-68 271 (-17)
T2 Hye-Jin Choi South Korea 71-66-66-69 272 (-16)
T2 Haeran Ryu South Korea 67-64-68-73 272 (-16)

Ryu, the world No. 3, who has won two majors this year, struggled to a 73 and also bogeyed the final hole. Yoshida earned $352,500 from the $2.35 million purse, taking her career LPGA earnings past $1.59 million. She becomes the fourth Japanese player to win on the LPGA Tour in 2026, the latest sign of Japan's growing strength in women's golf. The organisers said 40,171 spectators attended the week, and American Andrea Lee made a hole-in-one that won her a car.

Genesis Championship: Katsuragawa's second title

At Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, Katsuragawa built his win on a third-round 63 that tied the course record. He held on with an even-par 71 on Sunday, despite a closing bogey, to finish at 13 under par, two shots ahead of France's Frederic Lacroix and Martin Couvra. South Africa's Casey Jarvis, who began the day in second place, slipped to a tie for fourth.

Pos Player Country Score
1 Yuto Katsuragawa Japan -13 (271)
T2 Frederic Lacroix France -11
T2 Martin Couvra France -11

It is Katsuragawa's second DP World Tour title after the 2024 ISPS Handa Championship in Japan. The win lifted him from 106th to 28th in the Race to Dubai and secured his place in the season-ending play-off events. His winner's cheque was worth about $670,000.

Bermuda: no play on Sunday

On the PGA Tour, wind made Port Royal Golf Course unplayable on Sunday, and the tour cut the Butterfield Bermuda Championship to 54 holes. Austin Smotherman and Ireland's Seamus Power, tied for the lead after three rounds, will settle the title in a playoff on Monday, October 26.

Other results

  • PGA Tour Champions: Rory Sabbatini closed with a 9-under 62 to win the Stifel Classic by one shot over Darren Clarke, his first senior title.
  • Asian Tour: John Catlin won the Hong Kong Open by five shots.
  • Women's Indian Open: Thailand's Pornanong Phatlum won for a record fourth time.

Why it matters

Asia is now one of golf's busiest regions in the autumn, and Sunday's results show how deep Japanese golf has become on both the men's and women's tours. For South Korean fans, Ryu's final-round slip was a disappointment at the only LPGA event held in the country.

What happens next

The LPGA's Asian swing continues, the DP World Tour moves into its final events of the season, and the Bermuda playoff on Monday will decide the PGA Tour's latest winner — GlobeHourly will report the result.
